The Rev. Dr. Debora Jackson is the dean of the Robert A. Foisie School of Business at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts. Before that, she served as director of Lifelong Learning at Yale Divinity School; executive director of the Ministers Council of the American Baptist Churches USA; and as senior pastor of the First Baptist Church in Needham, Massachusetts. Jackson is the author of “Spiritual Practices for Effective Leadership: 7 Rs of Sanctuary for Pastors” (Judson, 2015).

She earned a bachelor's degree in business from Indiana University; master's degrees in management and manufacturing engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute; and an M.Div. and doctorate of ministry from Andover Newton Theological School.

Nurturing Children Through Worship and Prayer Initiative

A new grant is available to support endeavors that help children come to know and love God and grow in faith.

The Nurturing Children Through Worship and Prayer Initiative aims to support programs that help congregations strengthen worship and prayer practices that respect how children experience God and express their faith, include children with disabilities, draw upon the arts, create opportunities for Bible storytelling, and connect worship to the daily lives of children and families.

Proposals are due by 5 p.m. (ET) on May 6, 2024.
