Emmanuel Katongole
Emmanuel Katongole was born in the city of Maloube, Uganda, and ordained as a Roman Catholic priest by the Kampala Archdiocese in 1987. Since his ordination he has served parishes in Africa, Belgium and the United States. He is associate professor of Theology and Peace at Notre Dame University, with a joint appointment in the Theology Department and the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies. Prior to that, he was a professor at Duke Divinity School, where he was founding co-director of the Center for Reconciliation. Katongole’s research interests cover a wide range of issues related to theology and violence, especially in Africa. His published works include "Beyond Universal Reason," "African Theology Today" and "The Sacrifice of Africa."
Nurturing Children Through Worship and Prayer Initiative
A new grant is available to support endeavors that help children come to know and love God and grow in faith.
The Nurturing Children Through Worship and Prayer Initiative aims to support programs that help congregations strengthen worship and prayer practices that respect how children experience God and express their faith, include children with disabilities, draw upon the arts, create opportunities for Bible storytelling, and connect worship to the daily lives of children and families.
Proposals are due by 5 p.m. (ET) on May 6, 2024.
