Jordan has worked as a staff writer for newspapers in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and, for the past decade, Rhode Island, where she is the education reporter for The Providence Journal. She has an M.S. in journalism from Columbia University, an M.A. in Latin American history from San Francisco State University, and B.A.'s in history and Spanish from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
