Formation professional

Jennifer Holt Enriquez (Jen, she/her/hers) is a Christian formation professional at First Congregational Church in Western Springs, Illinois. She is a licensed attorney who has operated her own small business since 2003. Enriquez began working with children in a professional capacity when her own kids were in preschool. She transitioned to ministry in 2015 and became active within Forma. She is an advocate for Christian formation and the importance of lay ministers within the church.

Since 2020, in the wake of George Floyd’s murder, Enriquez has been working with the Rev. William Bouvel to find ways to tell children in their communities about how our faith can inform the problem of racism. They have developed a set of stories, Tell Me the Truth About Racism, suitable for ages 4 and older, connecting the language of our faith to the challenges of systemic racism in our world. Now they walk alongside other communities, 60 and counting, to preach those stories and the good news in their own contexts. Their training sessions meet online and in person throughout the year.
