John Wimmer was program director in the religion division of Lilly Endowment Inc. Wimmer joined the Endowment staff in 2002, and in his role as program officer, he was responsible for nearly $550,000 million in grants that supported religious institutions across Christian traditions. Before joining the Endowment, he was the founding director of the Center for Congregations in Indianapolis. He died June 24, 2020.
