David LaMotte
Songwriter, speaker, author and peace activist
David LaMotte is a songwriter, speaker, author and peace activist who lives in Black Mountain, North Carolina. He has performed at music festivals in the United States, Australia and New Zealand and has been a keynote speaker at peace conferences in India, Australia and Germany, and at the Scottish Parliament.
He received a Rotary World Peace Fellowship in 2008 to study in Australia, and as part of that study, he worked in rural India with a Gandhian development organization. He is also a consultant on peace and justice for the North Carolina Council of Churches and served as clerk of the American Friends Service Committee Nobel Peace Prize Nominating Task Group.
LaMotte has published four books, including “You Are Changing the World Whether You Like It or Not.”
