She has served in a variety of congregations, urban and suburban, small and large, in both the North Carolina and North Georgia Conferences, including Ocracoke UMC on Ocracoke Island, North Carolina. She is an elder in the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church.

As part of its year of Dwelling in the Psalms, the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship is providing support to host a public psalm festival worship service that features congregational singing based on the Psalms.
