His first book, “Sanctuary and Subjectivity: Thinking Theologically About Whiteness and Sanctuary Movements,” is part of T&T Clark’s Studies in Social Ethics, Ethnography and Theologies series. He is co-founder of Challenging Islamophobia Together Chicagoland with his spouse, the Rev. Dr. Anna Piela.
