Mycal X. Brickhouse

Director of programs and grants, Leadership Education at Duke Divinity

The Rev. Mycal X. Brickhouse serves as a director of programs and grants at Leadership Education at Duke Divinity, where he oversees Reflective Leadership Grants and Foundations of Christian Leadership, and as senior pastor of Cary First Christian Church in Cary, North Carolina. Ordained as an itinerant elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Brickhouse previously served as director of alumni relations at Duke Divinity School. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and earned an M.Div. from Duke Divinity School. The Rev. Brickhouse is passionate about community relations and currently serves as a member of the Advocacy Committee of Wake County Habitat for Humanity, the Building Bridges of Cary Police Department, the strategy team for ONE Wake and the Western Regional Community Advisory Committee of Wake County Human Services.

Vital Worship, Vital Preaching Grants

The Vital Worship, Vital Preaching Grants Program at the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship is designed to foster, strengthen and sustain well-grounded worship in congregations throughout the U.S. and Canada. Two streams of grants are offered: to teacher-scholars and to worshiping communities.

Grant proposal due date options include October 15, 2023, or February 15 or June 15, 2024.
