Alexandra Martinez

Journalist

Alexandra Martinez is a Cuban-American writer and filmmaker based in Miami. She is the senior news reporter at Prism, an independent nonprofit news outlet led by journalists of color, where she covers immigration and labor, among other topics. She also writes about arts and culture for outlets including Burnaway, Hyperallergic and The Art Newspaper.

Her reporting has been recognized by the Esserman-Knight Journalism Awards and she is the recipient of a 2024 Andy Warhol Arts Writers Grant. Martinez holds a B.A. in film from Columbia University.
