
Dewey Williams
Pastor, Mt. Bright Missionary Baptist Church
The Rev. Dewey Williams is the pastor of Mt. Bright Missionary Baptist Church in Hillsborough, North Carolina. In 2017, Williams' sermon series “Joy on Death Row” won the top award at Yale Divinity School’s Theology of Joy & the Good Life preaching competition, and he was a featured speaker at their 2018 Joy & the Good Life conference.
He is a graduate of Duke Divinity School with a master of divinity degree and is a doctoral candidate at the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology of Virginia Union University. Williams is the author of the book “Finding Joy on Death Row: Unexpected Lessons From Lives We Discarded,” released in February 2023.
