Gerardo Martí is the William R. Kenan Jr. Professor of Sociology at Davidson College. His speaking and writing focus on race, religion, power and social change. His most recent books are “American Blindspot: Race, Class, Religion and the Trump Presidency” and “The Glass Church: Robert H. Schuller, the Crystal Cathedral and the Strain of Megachurch Ministry.” He has served as president of both the Association for the Sociology of Religion and the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion.

This growing collection of resources emerged from the National Initiative to Address Economic Challenges Facing Pastoral Leaders, a grant program funded by Lilly Endowment Inc. and hosted by the Center for Congregations. For nearly a decade, organizations in this initiative have been seeking ways to alleviate the financial pressures, improve financial literacy skills and enhance fiscal leadership for pastors and their ministries.
